The year 2025 is either going to be the most exciting or most challenging year depending on your viewpoint. All of the major planets are changing Zodiac Signs! To be strictly accurate Pluto moved into Aquarius in November 2024, but this is a major shift and significant in its own right, let alone when combined with the changing of the guards of the other planets in 2025.

Neptune in Aries March 30, 2025

The biggest news of the year is Neptune into Aries for the first time since 1861.

Neptune takes 165 years to go around the Sun. That’s about 13.75 years in each Zodiac Sign. And now it moves into Aries on March 30, 2025. The last time that Neptune shifted into Aries was February 14, 1862. The added importance of this shift is that Pisces is the end of the Zodiac and Aries the beginning. This is a gateway entrance, marking a new era.

To understand the current world climate under this influence we look back to 1861 and beyond.  US President Lincoln announced his Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation (September 22), which would free all slaves in areas rebelling against the United States. Civil war broke out in 1861. And continued until 1865 when slavery officially ended in 1865.

The American Civil War erupted exactly as Neptune entered Aries in April of 1861. It was a war over slavery and was a war for the treatment of all individuals as equals. Neptune combined with the force and conviction of Mars, the ruler of Aries. What we learn from this is that any egregious treatment of individuals becomes a trigger for war. In today’s world this may be linked to transgender and non-binary rights.

Under this influence weather is likely to become a hot topic, as further global warming leads to rises in the oceans. Neptune combined with Mars and Aries is literally hot water. Hence the push to settle on Mars is likely to be a hot topic but also clouded by mystery and uncertainty.

As Pisces is the end of the Zodiac and Aries the beginning, we see that humanity is at a gateway. It is time to focus on the spiritual. It is a time of initiation. We have the ability to fire up with spiritual ideals, and to combat any lack of compassion and inclusiveness.

Uranus in Gemini July 7, 2025

As we move closer to the Sun, we also see the planet Uranus shift for the first time in 84 years. Uranus last entered Gemini during World War 2 in August 1941. The horrors of the war aside, the duration of the war saw the advance of technology associated with Uranus and Gemini. The first electronic computer was invented in Germany in 1941. The neutronic reactor, turbotrop engine, aerosol sprays and the atomic bomb are just a few of the inventions that came about in the early 1940s. So, we can expect to see further inventions in aviation, communication, artificial intelligence and (connected to Pluto in Aquarius) space age advances. Digital twins, smart vending machines, and smart cities are all likely to take off.

Saturn in Aries May 25, 2025

Next in line is Saturn entering Aries on May 25, 2025 for the first time since April 7, 1996. Saturn goes in and out of Aries until remarkably on Feb 20, 2026 it joins with Neptune in Aries. This is a significant date. The old, orthodox ways of behaving in the world are likely to be dissolved in favour of new and more spiritual ones. Saturn stays in Aries until April 13, 2028. During this time, we are likely to see a change of boundaries around different countries. Borders are likely to become an issue, both on a national and an international level. The structures within cities are likely to change to accommodate the growing number of people inhabiting the world, and the increase in the number of refugees on a global scale.

Jupiter in Cancer June 10, 2025

Jupiter, known as the Great Benefic, moves into Cancer on June 10 heralding a time of good fortune when it comes to anything connected to home and family. This could mean an increase in the cost of housing which benefits homeowners selling, or it could mean that more housing becomes available for those who are homeless or struggling.  Jupiter in Cancer is also likely to see an increase in the understanding of the importance of heritage. Indigenous communities are likely to receive more recognition with perhaps an increased awareness of the importance of their languages. On a global scale, refugees are likely to attract more attention and more help, international tourism in safe places is likely to boom, and international cuisine takes off.

It is a big year indeed!
