The King With no Breeches

An historical UK event will be witnessed on Saturday, May 6 at 11 am at Westminster Abbey, London. Charles Phillip Arthur George will be crowned King of England alongside his Queen Camilla.

Charles ascended to the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on the 8th September 2022. This historic coronation marks the formal investiture of a monarch’s regal power. Charles will be 74 at the time of the ceremony.

As an astrologer of many years, I am surprised that this Coronation is going ahead. Simply put, Charles does not have the chart of a King. His son, William, does.

Astrologers have been consulted for thousands of years about Royal births. Once upon a time only an official Royal astrologer was allowed to cast the chart of a new member of a royal family.

In British history, William the Conqueror consulted astrologers from foreign lands to elect his coronation in 1066. And In 16th century England, Elizabeth I consulted two well-known astrologers – Dr John Dee and William Lilly.

Perhaps Charles should have done the same.  The lead up up to his coronation sees some auspicious dates. In astrological terms, he has had the planet of kings, Jupiter, high in his chart as well as an auspicious Nodal Return. These two heavenly events have propelled him into the limelight. But is it enough?

No. Charles may well be crowned King but if the coronation goes ahead, his stars are not aligned for a positive reign. He is the oldest a new monarch has ever been crowned. Several matters will be his undoing. His reign is unlikely to be long, possibly during to ill health. Also, a powerful planet, Pluto, will move through the marital sector of his birth chart indicating powerful alliances changing. His wife’s influence is likely to alienate him from the public. During his reign the 56 country commonwealth will dwindle. Scotland is likely to leave, and others will follow. He will be known as the King who lost the Commonwealth.

In other words, if Charles had appointed and consulted a Royal astrologer, he would have been advised to retire to the English countryside and to be known as a gracious and wise upholder of the environment. Here he would have lived in the heart and minds of the people, like his ex-wife, who incidentally did consult an astrologer.
